Volunteering with the kids at J. Colon Elementary School has been a great way to learn more about the next generation that will one day be running our world. It is a wonderful way to stay connected to the social justice issues that are facing our society today. The Dr. Piper Center really cultivates relationships within the community.

Our nearly 1,200 elders need a friend like you. Almost half of Senior Citizens over 65 are growing old alone in our city. Many can’t leave their homes unassisted or are without a reliable network of family and friends.
We give elders vital support and the chance to develop the meaningful friendships missing in their lives. They receive support and companionship from our volunteers. By volunteering with The Dr. Piper Center, you will discover in them a wealth of wisdom, humor, guidance and inspiration.
